VW T3 Syncro 16 RHD 4 WDs competing in the 1990 Australian Safari

Volkswagen s team of two T3 Syncro 4WD s (the only 2 RHD 16 models ever produced) competed in the 1990 Australian Safari to prove that standard vehicles could successfully compete against the highly modified prototype vehicles. That a private entrant still had that chance of winning against the professional rally drivers is amazing, and indeed win they did in their class under 2. 5 litres.
