Or as one renter we spoke to told us Its basically like the Wild West. We put a message out online and were inundated with replies about rent hikes, mouldy homes and impossible flat hunts. Demand for rental properties is rising, but the supply of homes for rent is shrinking and the cost of monthly rent has increased by the highest rate on record.
