Aoi Matsuri: Oldest Festival of Kyoto, Japan
The Aoi Matsuri, named after the green Hollyhock leaves worn by the parade participants. This tradition goes back to the year 545 a. d. and almost 1500 years later the people of Kyoto continue to preserve it and pass its unique culture, art and values to the new generations. Usually, the Aoi Festival takes place on May 15th, but this year due to bad weather conditions, it was moved to the next day.
