Marble Experiment Using Straight Acrylic Pour Technique and Gold Mica Powder Embellishments
I have wanted to try a marble effect acrylic pour piece for some time now. This was all out first time experiments and first attempts. Yes, it was a disaster but I learned so much from doing this piece. First off, I was too conservative with the black, I was so concerned it would take over that I didn t add enough. Secondly, do not use all of my paints just incase I need to add more colours in for definition or tweaks. Thirdly, the nozzle on the gold bottle was much too wide and I ended up with blobbed lines rather than gold accents. Lastly, less is definitely more. I need to learn when enough is enough. In saying that, as soon as I blew out with that straw I knew this piece was done for so, I just kept going lol. I do think it would be worthwhile to practice with the bottle to create smooth lines, there seems to be a knack to it. I might also try adding the gold lines in as soon as the pour has been tilted to see how they dry and maybe go over the dried piece with a gold leafing pen. Anyway,
