Item title reads Grandmother Channel swimmer. Mrs E. Craven, aged 50, does a 10 mile practice swim in rough seas and says she will try Channel swim this year. Weymouth, Dorset. M, S of Mrs Craven on the seashore, another lady helps her take off her coat and scarf, she waves and goes into the sea, M, S of her swimming in the sea, M, S as she walks out and towards the camera. M, S of her drying off, she hands the towel to the other lady who helps her on with her coat again, people stand around and watch. M, S of Mrs Craven in her nurse s uniform playing with a baby who throws a ball. M, S during her practice swim as she goes up to a boat and is handed a cup which she drinks out of, M, S of her in the water again. C, U of her on land and in her uniform.
