It s about being too close to something to see the bigger picture, and leaning into the cruel torment that comes with wanting something you can t quite have. That kind of longing can feel like being caught in an emotional purgatory. Being in that state of stuckness, you ll blindly follow your desires wherever they lead you which sometimes means sitting with the darkest parts of yourself. This release is our first time working with Austin producer Taylor Webb and we are just in awe of his attention to detail and how beautifully he layered the textures of this track. I wanted the Nearsighted music video to represent a visual purgatory between STANDING O and what will be our next release later this year, in a threepart video project.
