George Harrison and his Naughty Chords
George Harrison is certainly not the best guitar player in the world, but he did leave his mark in the guitar world. He had a particular way of blending all of those past and present guitar players that he was influenced by into a cohesive way of playing for himself. He is often accredited for making slide guitar more popular in pop, rock music and he used chords in ways no one had before. Tom Petty often said that George liked play naughty chords on his songs. When George joined up with Tom Petty and became part of the traveling wilburys, they worked with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison. Tom and George would jam for hours when they werent working on specific songs for the super group. This allowed Tom to get a good understanding of Georges guitar playing. Tom said that George used a lot of chords, such as augmented and diminished chords and these are what he would often refer to as the Naughty Chords , georgeharrison, thebeatles, johnlennon, paulmccartney
