Want to support this channel and help us preserve old films Visit Visit our website As his service in Vietnam was coming to an end, U. S. Army combat cameraman David Plenn put a group of 16mm films into a box and shipped them back to the United States. These films included both material he d shot as a cinematographer for the Army, and materials shot by other staff members. The films remained in their box for three decades while Plenn pursued a successful career as a Hollywood cameraman. In the 2000s he donated the films to Periscope Film s archive in hopes of having them preserved and made available to the public. Within these motion pictures you ll see unedited dailies shot from approximately 19671970, including footage of Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara on one of his visits to S. E. Asia, and other rare material. We encourage viewers to add comments and, especially, to provide additional information about our videos by adding a comment S
