The US has said it is not seeking conflict with China as rare highlevel talks kick off in Tianjin. Things have gotten off to a tense start, with Beijing urging the US to stop demonising China. It has blamed Washington for a stalemate in relations. China has issued a list of demands to the US, which include lifting sanctions on Chinese officials and visa restrictions on students.
