Full title reads: LONDON S NEW FIRE HEADQUARTERS. Lambeth, London. Flag flying on top of a building of the new London s Fire Headquarters. Lines of firemen with a car arriving. King George VI (former Prince Albert Duke of York) and Queen Elizabeth (former Duchess of York later Queen Mother) leaving the car. They shake hands with several people. Pan along surrounding buildings showing crowds on balconies, windows, roofs. King and Queen inspecting the firemen and machines it is raining, many people with umbrellas are seen. Various shots of the fire fighting demonstration firemen putting out the fire, climb up the ladder, saving people from burning building etc. King and Queen are watching the show from a balcony. More shots of the demonstration. King presses the button to open the station and a long line of fire engines leaves the headquarters, drives through the crowded streets to the river to put out a fire on a burning boat. Boat on fire.
