It is HOT at Michy Milling Inc. , Milling more lumber to build my tiny cabin
I am happy to have been back at my sawmill; back at MichyMilling Inc. . I do have quite a bit more milling to do in the upcoming months for the cabin, so you will have more milling videos yet to come. I am brewing up some cool ideas for the cabin, and hoping I m able to make these ideas come to fruition. Certainly didn t think that milling this one log would take 3 days, but such is life. I AM a wife and mother of 6, and Lenny is still nursing lots these days After speaking with a friend who has a sawmill too, he has had the same troubles with milling Larch (also known as Tamarack to some), and he has told me that these logs need to have sat for like 4 years and really dry out before milling. He suggested to even cut one side (cut a slab off one side) to allow for better drying. I said I m not that desperate haha. I think I will stick to the other varieties of trees we have on our property if at all possible. It has been very hot
