Watch as A 26 foot long Buffalo LVT is extracted from the earth in Crowland
A 26footlong Buffalo LVT is extracted from the earth in Crowland, Lincolnshire, where it has been buried for 74 years since it was brought into the village to help during heavy floods in March 1947. Sixteen of the amphibious Buffalo LVTs were used to help seal the breach when a combination of heavy snow, high tides, rain and wind caused the River Welland to break its banks. The excavation has been organised by a local group who are planning to use the unearthed LVTs create a permanent memorial to the floods that happened in the area in 1947
