You Do Something to Me is a song by British singersongwriter Paul Weller that was released in 1995 as the third single from his solo album Stanley Road. It reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart upon release in July 1995. According to Weller, the song is about unattainable love. Paul John Weller (born 25 May 1958) is an English singersongwriter and musician. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock, new wave, mod revival band the Jam. He had further success with the blueeyed soul music of the Style Council (19831989), before establishing himself as a solo artist with his eponymous 1992 album. Despite widespread critical recognition as a singer, lyricist, and guitarist, Weller has remained a national, rather than international, star and much of his songwriting is rooted in British society. Many of his songs with the Jam had lyrics about working class life.
