Squeezing A Turbocharged 2. 0 L AMG Engine Into A Mercedes 190 E FCP Euros Golden Era Project Pt. 1
DTMs Golden Era was filled with shrieking, 10, 00RPM+ monsters and overboosted beasts that regularly pushed the envelope of what was capable from a fourcylinder engine. Thirty years later, AMG has built the M133, a firespitting, turbocharged animal that has wiped the floor with everything in its class. The 190Es original engine was never going to cut it in the DTM tribute, but a modified, modern equivalent of the race engine sure will. The 190E shell is finally ready for some clever engineering. The Merc s original steering, suspension, and braking components just arent going to be up to the task, so its up to Nate and Danny to figure out where they can update the tired Mercedes with modern AMG parts, including that engine. Slapped into a caged and stripped chassis with a manual transmission and rearwheel drive, the M133 should feel right at home, though not without some modifications first. Find out just what it takes to bring a 190E into the 21st century right here in part 1.
