Mike Mangini covering Steve Vai, Here Now
This is from a VHS of mine back when drummers HAD to play every note right (meaning it matches the album) for the whole song without stopping once. I learned to play albums with the drums in them from age 4. It has come in handy during my career. It s totally normal and how it is that I never sound like who I am covering. I m not a copyright owner of this song. Check out Bozzio s tremendous and original part. And before my time, I put the cymbals up, way up, way way up, so 20 years into the future, people could talk about that instead of the actual drumming. And also, NO shoulder pain ever. It s nice to do what you want with no care what anyone thinks with no effect on you whatsoever except to have some comedy in your life. I highly recommend it
