Here is perhaps THE BEST audience footage documenting the 198788 House Of Blue Light era of the then newly reformed lineup of Deep Purple. This is one of the best concerts the band held in 1987. The whole band is giving it 100 in this excellent performance of the classic Smoke On The Water. Ian Gillan s voice is excellent, and Ritchie is putting a lot of effort and energy into his playing, something that was to be in 1987. Gillan struggled a lot with his voice after the tour with Black Sabbath and the 1984, 85 Perfect Strangers tour. The reason for why he dissolved Gillan was amongst other things, throat problems, which he needed surgery for. Blackmore s playing on stage in 1987 was getting more and more unpredictable, and he was becoming more and more difficult, compared to the previous tour in1984, 85.
