Demon of the Fall Opeth vocal cover

I am so glad to finally be able to share this cover with you Demon of the Fall being one of my alltime favourites, I really wanted to do it justice so I took my time to work on it. As usual, I am trying to get as close as I can to the original. Mikael Akerfeldt being a baritone, I always thought this type of low growls were out of my range, but you should never trust your ears with He s singing in a high head voice, it s all about where you make the voice resonate :) Like in the original, I used a double layer of growls (low + high) and applied echo to give it the from the bottom of the well vibe you can feel in the recording. Although it s one of many in the Opeth repertory, to me Demon of the Fall is their most perfect song, a true masterpiece. All the pieces of the song are climax material, which makes you go wait, there s more . The final melody in clear voice is out of this world.
