Treat Me Like a Human Being is a song by Morrissey which was recorded as part of the Viva Hate sessions in 1987 but was left unreleased until it featured as the Bside for the Glamorous Glue single reissue of 2011 and was then included on the reissue of Viva Hate the following year. The song was written and composed by Morrissey and Stephen Street and was produced by Stephen Street. Morrissey is the cofounder, former frontman, lyricist and joint composer for the seminal English band The Smiths. Since the groups breakup in 1987 Morrissey has remained an internationally renowned and successful solo artist. This video is made from clips taken from Poor Cow (also known as No Tears for Joy) which is a 1967 British kitchen sink drama film directed by Ken Loach and starring Carol White and Terence Stamp. It was written by Loach and Nell Dunn based on Dunn s 1967 novel of the same name. It was Loach s first feature film.
