Ikuta Jinja Shrine Kobe ᴴᴰ 生田神社 神戸 お宮参り
Ikuta Jinja Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, dating back from the 3rd. century. It collapsed during the huge Hanshin quake in 1995, where big areas of Kobe was destroyed, killing almost 7000 people. But it was rebuild using the original parts, including the entire roof construction, and it remains one of the regions most important shrines. On the day of my visit, there happened to be a Omiyamairi, which literally means a first visit to a shrine the shinto religions version of a baptism
