Tear Drop
The Brooklyn youths composed the tune with their mother and earned a gold record award, but their story didn t end there. They charted five more singles through the mid 60s and continued to record albums, mainly for an international audience, well into the 70s. Their second biggest hit, Tear Drop, is seldom heard today, but nearly reached the Top 20 in the wake of Sleep The melody, featuring Santo on steel guitar and Johnny on electric guitar, bears an obvious debt to Sleep Walk and shares the tunes haunting quality. As with Sleep Walk, the Farina brothers cowrote Tear Drop with their mother.
